Product Description
The D-TECTRON Notification Appliance series offers the most versatile and easy-to-use line of horns, strobes,
and horn strobes in the industry. With white and red plastic housings, wall and ceiling mounting options, and
plain and FIRE-printed devices, SpectrAlert Advance can meet virtually any application requirement.
The wall-mount horns, strobes, and horn strobes include a variety of features that increase their application
versatility while simplifying installation. All devices feature plug-in designs with minimal intrusion into the
back box, making installations fast and foolproof while virtually eliminating costly and time-consuming ground
faults.
The temporal tone generated by the horn portion is designed as per ANSI and NFPA72 for standard emergency
evacuation signaling requirement. The horn has the feature that can synchronize multiple horns in a complete
fire alarm system.

Engineering SpecificationsGeneralD-TECTRON series horns, strobes, and horn strobes shall mount to a standard a 4"x4" electrical box or combine the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) fixed structure. The notification appliance circuit wiring shall terminate at the universal mounting plate. D-TECTRON products shall operate between 32 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit from a regulated DC or full- wave rectified unfiltered power supply. Strobes and horn strobes shall have field-selectable candela settings including 10,35, 50, 85, 105, 130.
StrobeThe strobe shall be a D-TECTRON Model DT981R,DT981W,DT982R and DT982W to UL1638, UL 1971 and shall be approved for fire protective service.
Horn Strobe CombinationThe horn strobe shall be a D-TECTRON Model DT961R,DT961W,DT962R and DT962W listed to UL1971, UL 1638, UL 464 and shall be approved for fire protective service. The LED light source offers superior performance, including low power consumption and long operating life. Figure 1 shows relative light outputs dispersion from strobes mounted on walls
Synchronization ModuleThe module shall be a D-TECTRON DT951 listed to UL 464 and shall be approved for fire protective service. The
module shall synchronize D-TECTRON strobes at 1 Hz and horns at temporal three. The module shall mount to a
4"x4" electrical box or combine the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) fixed structure and base using the screws provided. The module shall also control two Style Y (class B) circuits or one Style Z (class A) circuit. The module shall synchronize multiple zones.
